The program is a unique reading challenge designed to engage elementary students and fuel their excitement for reading by incentivizing and rewarding them along the way.
To join the challenge, students should log into their myON accounts and start reading during their assigned quarter. Their time spent reading will automatically be tracked when they open a book. Individual prizing will be based upon total minutes read and school prizing will be based upon average minutes read.
During the first three quarters of the competition, the top three students from the six HCPS district areas will win (3) tickets to attend the UCONN vs. USF game on Monday, March 4, 2019.
The top school in each bracket will receive a celebratory banner to hang in their school to honor their achievement. The banners will travel to each winning school in the six HCPS district areas and the top class will win a pizza party.
During the fourth and final bracket, third graders from the top four schools in each of the HCPS district areas will win a field trip to Tourney Town, the Women’s Final Four fan festival, at the Tampa Convention Center on Friday, April 5, 2019.
